A magical visit to Chatsworth

When I heard that Chatsworth was having a Russian Christmas, I was honoured to be invited to officially open the event. As I twirled around the house, I felt very much at home with other celebrated characters including Peter and the Wolf and Russian Cossacks.

I was also lucky enough to meet the children from Pilsley CofE school, who along with other local schools, (Curbar, Heath and Grassmoor) had decorated colourful Faberge style eggs to be put on display. They had even come in their own costumes including fairies, pixies and reindeers!

Thank you again for inviting me, and who knows, I may even return again before Christmas!

Crafted for Christmas floral demonstrations

Christmas arrived with floral profusion at Chatsworth today, as I presented my first demonstration in the stunning surroundings of the atmospheric Victorian Theatre. Following the theme of the Russian Christmas, vibrant colours of pinks & purples were married with opulent gold and silver.

I showed the enthusiastic audience members how to create table centres, contemporary designs in exciting glittered wirework baskets from Germany and how to decorate majestic silver candelabras.

At the end of the demonstration the Theatre stage was a riot of festive colour and magical decorations. Some of the lucky audience were delighted with the fantastic flowers that they won in the raffle. One excited attendee had four ladies in her car and two huge flower displays to get home, I would guess that a tight squeeze would ensue and they would all be sprinkled with glitter.

Further floral themed events will be happening on Saturday when 30 attendees will enjoy a workshop in the theatre and a full day of Demonstrations again on the 12th November. For all things festive & floral then Chatsworth is the place to be!
